1. Dear VirMach Customers,
3. You have a ******* that’s eligible for migration to o** new Ryzen ******s, with much faster p**ce**ing power and disk speeds, with no p**ce increase. IPv6 will also become available at a later time, and many new locations are available. Most of you should be able to re*uest a self-serve migration without data if you desire, by navigating to yo** ******* page and using the Ryzen migrate/upgrade button. Please only use this option if you do not mind re-installing yo** operating ****** (this is optional.)
5. There will be many upcomin***igration maintenance windows.
7. We will publish these on o** website on the ne**ork status page. If yo** ******* becomes part of a migration, you’ll receive another email with the date but you can always also check the ne**ork status page. Please note, many migrations are coming up so support re*uests will be tempora**ly delayed. When a ******* is migrated, it will go offline for a few ho**s and ret**n back with a new IP addre**. You can check yo** ******* details page for the new IP addre** and if ne**orking is not functional, you can use the reconfig**e ne**ork button. We’ll generally send f**ther communication when po**ible p**viding this information to you in a ticket as well.
9. Please also note, due to the *uantity of migrations, it is po**ible in some situations there will be a short notice so please keep an eye out for a migration email. We’ll still try o** best to p**vide this information as soon as po**ible and with 72 ho**s to 1 week advance notice but in some cases it may occ** as early as 24 ho**s or as an emergency maintenance window should you be on an older node that happens to face hardware p**blems.
11. There will be no increase in ******* cost. We highly recommend you begin backing up any important data. While we keep emergency backups and do not suspect any i**ues, it’s always good practice to back up yo** files. It’s also po**ible that for some *******s on extremely old operating ******s, there may be compatibility i**ues when you move to new hardware, so we recommend updating yo** operating ******. The most common fix for this i**ue would be re*uesting that we change the CPU settings on yo** *******, so please mention this in yo** ticket title should yo***un into this p**blem.
13. Old operating ******s may not function. If you install an operating ****** and see an er**r on VNC, please install the la**** operating ****** instead. If new operating ******s are not available for yo** old *******, please contact us and let us know. We will continue adding these to old *******s **tomatically in the meantime. Please check both yo** ******* details page re-install option as well as the re-install option directly after clicking the VPS Cont**l Panel button.
15. New locations & free location changes:
17. We now have Tokyo, Frankf**t, Denver, Miami, and Phoenix locations available. You may change yo** location by using the self-serve migration without data option. We c**rently have no option to change locations for free with data, so if you want to change locations, you must re-install yo** operating ******.
19. Other changes/notes:
21. Yo** ******* may be located to a nearby location if the location is not available d**in***igration. You will be able to migrate back at a later time (a button will appear on ******* details page when this is available.)
22. Port 25 may become blocked by def**lt on these new ******s. If it is blocked, you may use the port 25 unblock department to re*uest a**istance, how***r, please first check and ens**e it is actually blocked before creating the re*uest as we will be receivin***any of these re*uests. Include output showing the port is blocked in the ticket.
23. rDNS re*uests will be unavailable for some time. If yo***e*uire rDNS, please begin to make other temporary arrangements. Once rDNS is available, the button will appear and function on yo** ******* details page. Old rDNS re*uests will not function since yo** IP addre** is changing.
24. Windows is c**rently only available as Windows 2022 Eval version. Licensed Windows *******s will become available again in the near fut**e and you will see a button allowing you to change to the licensed plan if you’re eligible. This will involve another migration and re-install. When booting into Windows 2022 Eval for the first time, please re-arm the t**al license by opening **D and typing in slmgr /rearm
25. Any f**ther changes and notes will be communicated on the ne**ork status page for the migrations. Please check there for new information before creating a ticket as it may get you the answer you need much faster than contacting us.
26. If you have any *uestions, please refer to o** announcements and knowledgebase articles. We’ll add FA* to the knowledgebase as *uestions are asked. Please use the &*uot;Ryzen&*uot; department for any i**ues related to this change and once again keep in mind that we will be receivin***any re*uests and support response time will be highly delayed. If you have any emergency situation, please use the &*uot;p**o**ty&*uot; department. We will not bill you for p**o**ty support as long as it involves yo** ******* not being functional.
